New supervisor named for Bridger-Teton forest

JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — The acting supervisor for the Bridger-Teton National Forest has been named the permanent supervisor.

Forest officials announced Tuesday that Jacque Buchanan is the new supervisor of the northwestern Wyoming forest. She had been serving a 120-day stint as interim supervisor and will start her new job Oct. 12.

Buchanan was forest supervisor and deputy supervisor of the Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico. She also was a district ranger in the Gila National Forest in New Mexico and worked for several U.S. Department of Agriculture agencies, including the Farm Service Agency.

Buchanan started college at Eastern New Mexico University and completed her bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources at Pennsylvania State University in 1988.
