PULLMAN, Wash. -- Tree Top Inc., an apple juice and processing cooperative in Selah, Wash., is donating $250,000 to Washington State University in support of tree fruit research, teaching and extension.

"Tree Top's participation in the Campaign for Washington State University is first and foremost about reinforcing the industry's investment in WSU," said Tom Stokes, Tree Top chief executive officer, in referring to the industry's recent approval of $27 million in self-assessment to support WSU tree fruit programs.

Tree Top's gift is the second from businesses associated with the tree fruit industry toward raising an additional $10 million. It brings that total to $500,000.
