DARRINGTON, Wash. (AP) — A $1.5 million grant is on the way to help communities recover from the devastating Oso landslide in March.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is providing the money, and Snohomish County is putting together a plan for spending it. County spokeswoman Rebecca Hover says plans call for using the money to help buy out properties hit by the mudslide or ensuing floodwaters.
