The agricultural dealership Agri-Service is consolidating its Eltopia and Pasco locations in Eastern Washington, effective Aug. 1.
The company is expanding its parts warehouse in Pasco and adding a mezzanine for more storage, said
Nate Alderliesten, store manager of both locations.
The Eltopia location will close.
The company currently runs its parts department out of Eltopia, Alderliesten said.
"We'll be able to move all that inventory down here and probably be able to carry more parts inventory," Alderliesten said.
The company determined that it made more sense to have one team in a state-of-the-art facility instead of having two locations 12 miles apart, Alderliesten said.
All of the 12 to 13 employees at Eltopia will move to the Pasco location, joining about 20 employees there.
"That was the intention of the merger — we're going to bring everybody together under one roof," Alderliesten. "We're going to have an unrivaled support system in our service department."
Most of the response in Eltopia has been positive, he said.
"There's been a few locals who have voiced their concerns, but they do understand the situation we're in and what it really is going to be able to do for them," he said.
Agri-Service is an independent, family-owned dealership carrying multiple product lines. The company also has locations in Idaho and Utah.
