Taysha Veeman is the 2019 Marion County Dairy Princess/Ambassador. Her coronation was April 25, 2019 at Immanual Reformed Church in Salem.
Taysha is the daughter of Rod and Toni Veeman of St. Paul, Oregon. She is a senior at St. Paul High School where she is active in FFA, Track, softball, choir, and National Honor Society. Taysha grew up and now works on her family’s 450 cow Organic dairy farm. She plans to attend California Polytechnic University majoring in animal science with the goal of becoming a veterinarian.
As part of her coronation Taysha gave an entertaining speech titled “Telling Our Story: How Farmers Can Help Educate Consumers!“. She then presented a TV commercial about milk and answered an impromptu question.
Donata Doornenbal, of Scio, the 2018 Princess/Ambassador, presented her with the tiara that she will wear as she represents Marion County dairy farm families and promotes dairy products. In addition, in January, Taysha will compete for the title of 2020 Oregon Dairy Princess Ambassador.
Taysha will receive education scholarships from Marion County Dairy Women, Woodburn Livestock Exchange, VandeBurgt & Co., Veterinary Services of Oregon, Ernst Irrigation, Buchanan Cellars/Valley Feed, Excel Dairy Service, The Summit Group of Oregon, All West/ Select Sires, Delaval Direct, CHS Nutrition, Wilco, Purina Nutrition and Oak Lea Mixers.
