Through the NEPA process agencies evaluate the environmental and related social and economic effects of a proposed action. A public involvement process is required including opportunities for public review and comment on the analysis and alternatives. This workshop will help participants learn more about the process and respond to the proposed actions.

The workshops combine presentations, discussions, and exercises on public involvement in the NEPA process. Discussion will include NEPAs requirement for the BLM, why does the BLM ask for public comment, and the BLMs review and evaluation of public comments. Exercises in reviewing public comments and writing a substantive comment.
