LEBANON

(Lebanon Auction Yard)

April 2

Receipts: 407, 381 Cattle

Comment: Limited number of feeder cattle not enough for a true market test. The butcher cow and bull market dropped $20 making it the largest weekly drop I can ever remember. As the futures in milk and beef cattle continue to show downward pressure making new contract lows it looks like they will continue to sell big numbers of cows. I don’t look for the cow market to improve anytime soon. However, with the COVID-19 it might be day by day.

Comments: A small sale with only small bunches of feeders. A $10 drop in futures and continuing coronavirus concerns continue to pound the market. Cull cattle $10 lower. Industry concerns of more beef and dairy cows coming to market soon may indicate now is the time to sell culls. Wishing all of you good health.
