Comments: Monday’s regular cattle sale featured a light run of cows and calves, with a good number of bred cows on offer. Slaughter cows were steady to higher, with the best of the cows bringing 75 cents per pound, and an average price of 67 cents. Slaughter bulls were also steady, bringing 89 cents per pound with an average of 83 cents. Feeders were steady on a light run, with good demand for light grass calves, and local demand for bigger yearlings. 800-900 weight steers brought $1.36, with an average of $1.29, while same weight heifers brought $1.10. 600-700 weight steers brought $1.54, with an average of $1.52, while heifers brought $1.27. Next week we’ll have a feeder special, and expect a good run of fall calves on offer.
