Comments: Monday’s feeder special featured over 700 head of cattle, with a large run of cows and yearlings on offer. Slaughter cows were 5-6 cents higher, with the top of the cows bringing 83 cents, and the average price ranging from 67-73 cents per pound. Slaughter bulls were also stronger, topping out at $1.03 per pound, with an average of 91 cents per pound. Feeder cattle were mixed, with a stronger market on 700-900 weight cattle, while light calves were mixed to lower. 700-800 weight steers topped out at $1.46, with an average of $1.36, while same weight heifers brought $1.32, with an average price of $1.30 per pound. 800-900 weight steers brought $1.40 at the top end, and averaged $1.35. Same weight heifers brought $1.32 at the top, and averaged $1.19. 500-600 weight steers brought $156.50, averaging $1.49 per pound.
