LEBANON

(Lebanon Auction Yard)

Sept. 19

Receipts: 435, 400 cattle

Comment: As expected with the recent rain, we had better buyer interest and an improved market. I still can’t put enough importance on a proper vaccination program. Weaned and or vaccinated calves continue to bring a premium. As expected with the seasonal increase in cow numbers the cow market was off by $3-4 again this week. I believe this trend will continue. If you have some to sell, the sooner the better.

TURLOCK

(Turlock Livestock Auction Yard)

Sept. 3

Receipts: 2266 HD

Comments: Futures cooperated for this sale on closing positive. We saw a good offering of yearlings with an active market. The calves that had good, solid vaccination programs or were weaned were steady. Calves with only one round of shots or no health information were softer. Weigh cows and bulls were 2-3 cents softer.
