CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — In partnership with the Jackson County 4-H and FFA Junior Livestock Committee, Grange Co-op has donated a new 3,000-pound capacity Paul Livestock Scale for use at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.
The large capacity scale will provide a means for local 4-H and FFA students and clubs to weigh their project animals throughout the year. The ability to weigh their animals helps students track their efforts and continue to progress leading up to annual youth livestock auctions.
“We are proud to be able to continually help support 4-H and FFA students in our area, having a part in their development and education,” said Norm Rush, donation committee chairman, in a press release. “Grange Co-op has also supported our future leaders by sponsoring the Co-op Quiz at the Oregon FFA State Convention each year, working with our local FFA chapters in Southern Oregon, attending and purchasing livestock projects at county fairs, and we were able to present a check for $10,000 earlier this year, raised through sales of Rogue Feed and the Dividend Patronage Program.”
Grange Co-op was founded in 1934.
