YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) -- Yakima officials have lifted the stop-work order on a wood-chipping operation at the site of an old Boise Cascade mill where a log pile burned.
Officials believe enforcement of standards will prevent anther fire at Yakima Resources. The Yakima Herald-Republic reports the rules limit the size of log piles and separate them by at least 100 feet.
The operation has been shut down since the Sept. 26 fire that sent black smoke over parts of the city. There were two other fires in July at the site.
