HELENA, Mont. (AP) -- State wildlife officials have authorized the killing of the remaining members of the Mitchell Mountain wolf pack after a fourth guard dog was killed north of Helena.
Carolyn Sime is the wolf program coordinator for the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks. She says FWP authorized the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services to kill the remaining members of the pack, after the fourth confirmed wolf kill on the ranch.
The wolves have killed four guard dogs and two goats since June 2008.
