BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Fire officials in southwest Idaho say a haystack fire burned about 500 tons of hay Sunday morning.

Ada County dispatchers tell the Idaho Statesman (http://bit.ly/rLTHtO) that the fire was reported about 5:30 a.m. in Kuna.

Firefighters from Nampa and Meridian responded, and were mopping up just after 9 a.m.

An additional 300 tons of hay were threatened. It's unclear how the fire started.
