The Fuel Up to Play 60 program is designed to get students from fourth grade to 10th grade to make healthful food choices and increase their physical fitness. Both schools and individual students can win prizes in a national competition when they participate.
The program has strategies for students to plan and implement that earn points for themselves and their school. Students help lead and design the strategies to create more options for being active and eating more-healthful foods.
The program's website, www.FuelUpToPlay60.com, has games and programs to track healthy behaviors. A provided activity kit for schools includes tips for healthy eating and physical activity programs and posters, pledge cards and tracking sheets.
Schools and youths who enroll in Fuel Up to Play 60 are also enrolled in a national competition. Participants can win rewards and prizes based on points earned by participating in the program, including tracking their habits and being active at school.
Prizes include gift cards, iPods and school makeovers.
