Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during March by unit trains only, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars per cwt. Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as specified. All other wheat and barley bids are for full March delivery. Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery.

May wheat futures were 14 to 18-3/4 cents per bushel higher in midmorning trading compared with Wednesday's closes.

Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat for March delivery by unit trains were not well tested in early trading. Several exporters are not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for March delivery trended 15 cents per bushel higher than Wednesday's noon bids in a limited test in early trading. Moderately higher Kansas City May wheat futures were supportive to bids.

Bids for 14 percent protein non-guaranteed US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for March delivery were not well tested in early trading, but trended 14 cents per bushel higher than Wednesday's noon bids in reaction to the higher Minneapolis May wheat futures. Protein scales for non- guaranteed 14.0 percent protein were plus 35 cents each 1/4 of a percent of protein up to 16 percent protein and minus 40 cents each 1/4 of a percent of protein down to 13 percent protein. Some exporters are bidding a premium for guaranteed dark and guaranteed 14 percent protein dark northern spring wheat.

Bids for US 2 barley for March delivery were not well tested.

Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars trended mixed, from 2-1/2 cents lower to 1-1/4 per cwt higher than Wednesday's noon bids. Lower Chicago May corn futures pressured bids, although some corn traders raised their basis which was supportive to bids. Bids for corn bids truck delivered to the Yakima Valley were not well tested.
