Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Oregon during April by unit trains and barges, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars per cwt. Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as specified. All other wheat bids are for full April delivery. Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery.

July wheat futures trended five to 18 cents per bushel higher in early trading compared to Thursday's July closes.

Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat for April delivery in unit trains or barges were not well tested in early trading, but trended five to ten cents per bushel higher compared to Thursday's noon bids for April delivery.

Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for April delivery were not well tested in early trading, but bids were indicated as 12 to 14 cents per bushel higher compared to Thursday's noon bids, with support coming from the higher Kansas City July wheat futures. Most exporters have switched their basis to over the July wheat futures.

Bids for 14 percent protein non-guaranteed US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for April delivery were not well tested, but bids were indicated as steady to five cents per bushel higher than Thursday's noon bids. Bids were supported by the higher Minneapolis July wheat futures. Some exporters lowered their basis in order to offset the higher futures. Protein scales were down 15 cents per 1/4 percent protein down to 13 percent protein and up five cents per 1/4 percent protein up to 16 percent protein.

Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars trended 33-3/4 to 46-1/4 cents per cwt higher than Thursday's noon bids. Higher Chicago July corn futures and a higher basis bid by some corn traders supported cash corn bids. Corn bids truck delivered to the Yakima Valley trended 33-3/4 per cwt higher compared to Thursday's noon bids.
