CUBA, Mo. (AP) -- Authorities say a Nebraska man has been arrested on suspicion of stealing cattle in east-central Missouri.
Sheriff David Lee of Thayer County, Neb., said Wednesday that Donald Vandewalle is being held without bond as a fugitive on cattle theft charges in Crawford County, Mo. Lee says Vandewalle was arrested Tuesday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 67-year-old man from Bruning, Neb., is wanted for two felony counts of stealing livestock. The patrol says a total of about 60 cattle were stolen on Oct. 20 and Nov. 3 at the Interstate Livestock Auction in Cuba, Mo.
Lee said he did not know if Vandewalle has an attorney. No phone number could be found for Vandewalle.
