Compared to last week the winter storm canceled most sales throughout the United States. Slaughter lambs were $5-10 lower at New Holland, Pa., while at San Angelo, Texas, heavy slaughter lambs were $10-20 higher and light slaughter lambs were weak. Slaughter ewes were weak to $10 lower. Feeder lambs were not well tested. Storm shortened receipts totaled 2,077 head at San Angelo this week. Equity Electronic Auction sold 150 slaughter lambs in Wisconsin. In direct trading slaughter ewes were $2 higher and feeder lambs were not tested. 5,800 head of negotiated sales of slaughter lambs and 6,200 head of formula sales were $3 higher. 7,205 lamb carcasses sold with 55 lbs. and down higher; 55 lbs. and up $2.02-3.10 higher.
