ISDA offers free pesticide disposal

Idaho agricultural producers, dealers, applicators and homeowners storing unusable pesticides can dispose of them for free this May.

* May 11, Idaho Department of Transportation yard, 550 Indian Head Road, Weiser.

* May 12, Nez Perce County Fairgrounds, 1229 Burrel Road, Lewiston.

* May 13, Coeur d'Alene Transfer Station, 3650 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene.

Signup extended for losses

FSA is accepting late applications for 2008 and 2009 livestock, honeybees and farm-raised fish losses through May 5.

Because of changes to program eligibility provisions, USDA has extended the application period for losses incurred through the Livestock, Honeybees and Farm-Raised Fish Program. Wolf depredation is an eligible loss for livestock killed on or after Jan. 1, 2008.

The program provides emergency relief for losses due to feed or water shortages, adverse weather and other conditions like wildfires or wolf depredation losses that are not mitigated by other disaster programs.
