It's our most recognized symbol, the iconic blue corduroy FFA jacket. For more than 90 years, this jacket has embraced whoever had the passion and potential to zip it up. It gave many the opportunity to belong, and the opportunity to believe that we truly could be the future of the agriculture industry.
If you ask FFA members past and present about their feelings for the FFA jacket, they will convey a tremendous amount of pride as they share what the jacket means to them.
“When I found out I was receiving my very own jacket from the Giving Tuesday and the Gift of Blue campaign, I was so happy. It felt like all of my hard work had paid off. I previously attended many FFA events, and at each of them I would have to borrow an FFA jacket, in order to participate. Once I tried on my jacket, with my name on the front, I felt a whole different feeling than when I wore other jackets. I am honored and grateful.” – Angel R., Madera FFA
Every story is different and reflective of individual experiences, but they all share a common theme, FFA made a positive difference in their life.
YOU can make a positive difference for one current FFA member!
Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday, a national day of giving. For every $75 donated, the California FFA Foundation will provide a FFA member with their very own jacket and tie or scarf. Any amount will help, and your gift will provide a FFA member with the opportunity to experience the pride and passion of wearing the symbolic blue and gold jacket.
Don't forget your donation of any amount will go twice as far this year! For the second year in a row, Blue Diamond Growers will match every donation, providing up to 200 jackets for FFA members.
“Blue Diamond Growers is excited to continue building our partnership with FFA and support the next generation of leaders in our industry," said Dan Cummings, chairman of the board for Blue Diamond Growers. "We believe investing in the future of agriculture in California is more important than ever."
