Emmett FFA Soil Conservation Speech

Two of the Emmett FFA members competed in the IASCD Speech Contest at the District level. The competition gives students, grades 9-12, prepare a speech over the current topic “Dig Deeper- Mysteries in the Soil.” Students who are interested in agriculture, resources conservation or the environment are encouraged to participate. At the District level, prizes are available. First place is $100, second place $75, and third place is $50. The first place individual advances to the Division competition and possibly state. The speech is three to five minutes long written by the contestant’s original texts, researched and written by the contestants. Allie Brown and Katie Hall participated in this event proudly representing the Emmett FFA Chapter.
