FFA members and students enrolled in the Equipment Operations and Maintenance class at Canby High School, fulfilled a Career Related Learning Experience by attending the Northwest Ag Show Jan 25th at the Expo Center in Portland which was made possible by a grant..

Two CRLE’s are a current graduation requirement for all students at Canby High School. This is a structured educational experience that connects classroom learning to the world beyond the classroom. To meet the CRLE requirement students must write a reflection paper on the event they attend.

To prepare for this activity, students were given instruction on how to introduce themselves, shake hands and dress properly for this activity.  While at the Ag Show, students were to gather information on Agriculture equipment as well as visit the Oregon Health and Safety booth to learn about hearing loss and safety requirements of equipment.

This has been an annual field trip for the last three years.  The Northwest Ag Show sponsors 10 schools to attend the show annually.  Ms. Cummings, the instructor and FFA Advisor at CHS, applied for the grant.
