Miss Rodeo Washington heads for national competition

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Lexy Hibbs, the current Miss Rodeo Washington and former Queen of Kennewick’s Horse Heaven Round-Up, will vie for the title of Miss Rodeo America at the upcoming pageant in Las Vegas.

The event begins Nov. 27 and includes horsemanship and speech competitions and a written test among many other contests, according to a press release from the Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo.

Hibbs, a Richland resident, spent the past year promoting rodeo and agriculture throughout the state as Miss Rodeo Washington. She served as the Queen for the Benton Franklin Fair & Horse Heaven Round-Up in 2020 and 2021.

Hibbs is a WSU graduate and the viticulturist for Goose Ridge Estate Vineyard and Winery in Benton City, the second largest producer of wine grapes in the United States.

Her parents are Dean and Patty Hibbs of Richland.

She began riding horses at the age of 7 and has competed in many equine disciplines.

She’ll compete against 27 other state representatives at the Miss Rodeo America pageant. The winner will be crowned on Dec. 4 at the South Point Hotel & Casino.
