Agritourism Limited Liability Signs lower the risk to a farm, ranch and on-farm added-value operation that sells directly to the public. By posting an official sign at the entrance to the site and at locations where agritourism activities take place on the farm, the liability risk may be lowered for farm owners and operators.

The Agritourism Limited Liability Sign program is a result of the Agritourism Limited Liability Bill SB 341 that was passed by the Oregon Legislature in 2015 after a collaborative effort of several of Oregon’s major agriculture and agritourism organizations. It is posted in Oregon statues as ORS 30.671 through 30.677.

Signs are available for purchase through Oregon Agritourism Partnership and may be picked up at Oregon State Extension Service, Marion County.

In order for the sign to be in compliance with the law, the warning message must appear in one-inch black lettering. A sign must be posted at the entrance to the establishment at a height that can be easily read by visitors. If there are agritourism activities taking place on the farm, such as a hayride or animal barn, an additional sign should be posted in that location.

Regulation Agritourism Limited Liability Signs are made from lightweight and durable PVC and may be purchased for $50 each. Signs are made possible through a collaboration of Oregon Agritourism Partnership and OSU Extension, Marion County. Signs may be purchased from Oregon Agritourism Partnership and picked up at OSU Extension Office, Marion County, 1320 Capitol St NE, Suite 110, Salem, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Make checks payable to Oregon Agritourism Partnership.
