Workshop boosts marketing skills

The Northwest Agriculture Business Center will present a daylong workshop on Jan. 10 titled "To Market! To Market! Part 1: Knowing Your Customers."

The session will target farmers and food entrepreneurs looking to combine textbook marketing with cutting-edge practices.

Participants will learn strategies for building a brand, connecting with resellers and developing relationships with retailers. The workshop will wrap up with a panel discussion with professional buyers who have built successful businesses reselling local products.

The day's events will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at Skagit Station, 105 E. Kincaid in Mount Vernon, Wash.

The registration cost of $85 includes box lunch, beverages and snacks, and the class is limited to 25 attendees.
