CASH SOFT WHITE WHEAT
Pacific Northwest: Bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat, delivered by unit trains and barges to Portland during January ended the reporting week on Thursday, Dec. 27, as $8.3725-8.4725, mostly $8.4250, $18.25 to $27.75 cents per bushel lower compared to Dec. 20 bids for January delivery of $8.5550-8.75. There were no white club wheat premiums for nearby delivery for this week or last week. One year ago bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat and white club wheat for January delivery were $6-6.15. Nearby bids for U.S. 1 Soft White wheat began the holiday shortened reporting week on Dec. 21 at mostly $8.4450 and then moved lower to mostly $8.27 on Dec. 27. Dec. 28, the reporting week's close, bids were at mostly $8.4250. There were no new confirmed export sales of white wheat this week. Forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: February $8.4225-8.5225, March $8.45-8.5225, April $8.45-8.5725 and May $8.55-8.5725. One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: February $6.10-6.20, March $6.12-6.20 and April $6.14-6.25.
Outstanding U.S. white wheat export sales as of Dec. 20, for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2012, and ending May 31, 2013, totaled 1256.6 thousand MT compared to 1222.8 thousand MT on Dec. 13, and 1082.7 thousand MT one year ago. Outstanding white wheat export sales for the 2012-13 marketing year were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan 274.5, Philippines 176.0, Egypt 165.0, South Korea 161.1, China (Main) 55.5, Thailand 53.0, Yemen 50.0, Nigeria 26.4, Vietnam 16.0, Taiwan 8.6, Malaysia 2.0, Mexico 1.8, Canada 1.6, Burma 1.5, Hong Kong 1.4 and total unknown 262.2. Accumulated white wheat export shipments as of Dec. 20, in 1000 MT for the 2012-13 marketing year, totaled 2475.5 compared to 2780.4 one year ago.
Outstanding U.S. barley export sales as of Dec. 20, for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2012, and ending May 31, 2013, in 1000 MT, totaled 1.1 compared to 1.1 on Dec. 13, and 0.0 one year ago. Outstanding barley export sales for the 2012-13 marketing year in 1000 MT were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan 0.8 and Taiwan 0.3. Accumulated barley export shipments as of Dec. 20, were 120.2 thousand MT compared to 82.6 one year ago.
COARSE FEEDING GRAINS
Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars were $287.75-290.50, $1.75 cents per ton lower than Dec. 21 bids of $289.50-292.25. Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn truck delivered to the inland feeding areas of Yakima, Wash., and Hermiston, Oregon were $278-294.75, also $1.75 cents per ton lower than Dec. 21 bids of $279.75-296.50. Bids for U.S. 2 Heavy White Oats for January delivery held steady with Dec. 21 noon bids at $265.
