USDA to survey farmers, ranchers on expenses

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nearly 2,000 farmers and ranchers in Nebraska will be getting questions about their expenses from Agriculture Department officials soon.

The questions are part of the national Agricultural Resource Management Survey. Nearly 33,000 producers nationwide will be surveyed between January and April.

The survey results, which will be published in August, help shape federal programs that affect farmers and ranchers

Participating farmers and ranchers will be asked about their operating expenses, production costs and their families.
