Domestic wool trading on a clean basis was slow this week. There were no confirmed sales. Warehouses are beginning to see some wool come in. Sellers are very reluctant to market wool at this time due to limited volume available and foreign demand is showing signs of increasing in the last few weeks. Very little if any wool has been forward contracted due to increasing demand overseas. Demand light to moderate. Domestic wool trading on a greasy basis was slow this week. There were no confirmed sales.

Compared to last week slaughter lambs were $5-10 higher at New Holland, Pa., and at San Angelo, Texas, heavy slaughter lambs were steady to $5 lower and light slaughter lambs steady.

Slaughter ewes were steady to $10 lower. Feeder lambs were steady to $5 lower. At San Angelo 3,487 head sold in a one-day sale.

Equity Electronic Auction sold 284 slaughter lambs and 108 slaughter ewes in Nebraska. In direct trading no comparison on slaughter ewes and replacement ewes; feeder lambs were not tested. 4,800 head of negotiated sales of slaughter lambs were firm and 12,400 head of formula sales of dressed lambs under 55 lbs. were not well tested; 55-75 were $5-6 higher; 75-85 lbs. were $3-4 lower and over 85 lbs. were steady to $1 lower. 5,367 lamb carcasses sold with 45 lbs. and down $4.31 lower; 45-55 lbs. $13.32 lower; 55-65 lbs. $3.13 higher and 65 lbs. and up steady. 5,363 lamb carcasses sold with 45 lbs. and down $8.91 higher; 45-65 lbs. $3.55-3.57 higher; and 65 lbs. and up $.45-1.38 higher.
