CASH SOFT WHITE WHEAT
Pacific Northwest: Bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat, delivered by unit trains and barges to Portland during December ended the reporting week on Thursday, Dec. 6, as $8.82-8.87, mostly $8.8450, mixed, from $8.50 cents lower to two cents per bushel higher compared to Nov. 28 bids for December delivery of $8.80-8.9550, mostly $8.8650. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. There were no white club wheat premiums for nearby delivery for this week or last week. One year ago bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat and white club wheat for December delivery were $5.85-6, mostly $5.94. Nearby bids for U.S. 1 Soft White wheat for the reporting week began on Nov. 30 at mostly $8.7425, rose on Dec. 3 to $8.7875, before falling slightly to mostly $8.7650 on Dec. 4, and then moved higher again on Dec. 5 to mostly $8.8175. Dec. 6, the reporting week's close, bids were at the weekly high of mostly $8.8450. New confirmed export sales of white wheat this week were to Japan, Egypt and South Korea. Forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: January $8.80-9, February $8.85-9.05, March $8.85-9.08 and April $8.85-9.11. One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: January 5.95-6, February $6.02-6.05, March $6.04-6.05 and April $6.05-6.08.
Outstanding U.S. white wheat export sales as of Nov. 29, for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2012, and ending May 31, 2013, totaled 1051.1 thousand MT compared to 1077.3 thousand MT on Nov. 22 and 1205.0 thousand MT one year ago. Outstanding white wheat export sales for the 2012-13 marketing year were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan 218.9, South Korea 159.6, Philippines 159.0, China (Main) 55.0, Yemen 50.0, Thailand 49.3, Nigeria 26.4, Taiwan 20.2, Vietnam 16.8, Guatemala 11.6, Burma 2.2, Mexico 1.8, Canada 1.5, Hong Kong 1.1, Malaysia 0.5 and total unknown 277.2. Accumulated white wheat export shipments as of Nov. 29, in 1000 MT for the 2012-13 marketing year, totaled 2286.9 compared to 2442.7 one year ago.
Outstanding U.S. barley export sales as of Nov. 29, for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2012, and ending May 31, 2013, in 1000 MT, totaled 2.0 compared to 2.0 on Nov. 22, and 0.2 one year ago. Outstanding barley export sales for the 2012-13 marketing year in 1000 MT were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan 1.5 and Taiwan 0.5. Accumulated barley export shipments as of Nov. 29, were 119.0 thousand MT compared to 82.3 one year ago.
COARSE FEEDING GRAINS
Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars were $309-312.25, mixed, from 50 cents lower to 25 cents per ton higher than last Wednesday's bids of $309.50-312. Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn truck delivered to the inland feeding areas of Yakima, Wash., and Hermiston, Ore., were $299.50-309.75, steady to $2.75 higher than Nov. 28 bids of $299.50-307. Bids for U.S. 2 Heavy White Oats for December delivery held steady with Nov. 28 noon bids at $265.
