CASH SOFT WHITE WHEAT
Pacific Northwest: Bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat, delivered by unit trains and barges to Portland during December ended the reporting week on Thursday, Nov. 29, as $8.80-8.95, mostly $8.86, 14.75 to 25.25 cents per bushel higher compared to Nov. 21 bids for December delivery of $8.65-8.70. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. There were no white club wheat premiums for nearby delivery for this week or last week. One year ago bids for U.S. 1 Soft White Wheat and white club wheat for December delivery were $5.75-5.90, mostly $5.85. Nearby bids for U.S. 1 Soft White wheat for the reporting week began on Nov. 26 as not available as most exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery. On Nov. 27, soft white wheat bids were mostly $8.93 and moved slightly higher on Nov. 28 to mostly $8.97. Nov. 29 the reporting week's close bids were mostly $8.86. New confirmed export sales of white wheat this week were limited to Japan. Forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: January $8.70-9.05, February and March $8.90-9.10 and April $8.90-9.18. One year ago, forward month bids for soft white wheat were as follows: January $5.80-5.95, February $5.90-5.97, March $5.90-5.99 and April $5.90-6.01.
Outstanding U.S. white wheat export sales as of Nov, 22, for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2012, and ending May 31, 2013, totaled 1077.3 thousand MT compared to 899.2 thousand MT on Nov. 15, and 1143.2 thousand MT one year ago. Outstanding white wheat export sales for the 2012-13 marketing year were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan 213.9, South Korea 184.5, Philippines 181.5, Yemen 100.0, China (Main) 55.0, Thailand 49.3, Nigeria 26.4, Guatemala 23.5, Taiwan 20.2, Vietnam 4.3, Mexico 2.2, Burma 1.7, Hong Kong 1.1, Canada 1.0, Malaysia 0.5 and total unknown 212.2. Accumulated white wheat export shipments as of Nov. 22, in 1000 MT for the 2012-13 marketing year, totaled 2173.6 compared to 2371.5 one year ago.
Outstanding U.S. barley export sales as of Nov. 22, 2012 for the marketing year beginning June 1, 2012, and ending May 31, 2013, in 1000 MT, totaled 2.0 compared to 2.0 on Nov. 15, and 0.2 one year ago. Outstanding barley export sales for the 2012-13 marketing year in 1000 MT were to the following countries in 1000 MT: Japan 1.5 and Taiwan 0.5. Accumulated barley export shipments as of Nov. 22 were 118.9 thousand MT compared to 82.3 one year ago.
COARSE FEEDING GRAINS
Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars were $309.50-312, $3.75 per ton higher than Nov. 23 bids of $305.75-308.25. Bids for U.S. 2 Yellow Corn truck delivered to the inland feeding areas of Yakima, Wash., and Hermiston, Ore., were $299.50-307, $3.50 to $3.75 higher than Nov. 23 bids of $295.75-303.50. Higher Chicago December corn futures for the week supported on cash corn bids. Bids for U.S. 2 Heavy White Oats for December delivery held steady with Nov. 23 noon bids at 265.
