Portland daily grain report for Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012

Bids as of 9:30 a.m. Pacific time; subject to change.

Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Ore., during December by unit trains and barges, in dollars per bushel, except oats, corn and barley, in dollars per cwt. Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as specified. All other wheat bids are for full December delivery. Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery.

December wheat futures trended 5.25 to seven cents per bushel higher than Tuesday's closes. March Minneapolis wheat futures were six cents per bushel higher than Tuesday's closes, and March Kansas City wheat futures were 5.50 cents per bushel higher compared to Tuesday's closes.

Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat for December delivery in unit trains or barges trended six to nine cents per bushel higher than Tuesday's bids for December delivery. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for December delivery were not fully established in early trading, but were indicated as 5.50 to 9.50 cents per bushel higher compared to Tuesday's noon bids for December delivery. Higher Kansas City December and March wheat futures supported cash bids.

Bids for 14 percent protein non-guaranteed US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for December delivery were not well tested in early trading, but bids were indicated as six to seven cents per bushel higher than Tuesday's noon bids for the same delivery period. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars for domestic use trended 2.50 cents per cwt higher compared to Tuesday's noon bids. Corn bids truck delivered to the Yakima Valley trended 2.50 cents per cwt higher compared to Tuesday's noon bids. Higher Chicago December corn futures supported cash corn bids.
