Portland daily grain report for Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012

Bids as of 9:30 a.m. Pacific time; subject to change.

Bids for grains delivered to Portland, Ore., during October by unit trains and barges, in dollars per bushel, except oats and corn, in dollars per cwt. Bids for soft white wheat are for delivery periods as specified. All other wheat bids are for full October delivery. Bids for corn are for 30 day delivery.

December wheat futures trended 13.75 to 17 cents per bushel lower than Monday's closes.

Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat delivered to Portland in unit trains and barges during October trended 15 cents per bushel lower compared to Monday's bids for October delivery.

Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for October delivery trended 17 cents per bushel lower than Monday's noon bids for October delivery, pressured by the lower Kansas City December wheat futures. Some exporters are not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

Bids for 14 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for October delivery were not available as most exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.

Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars trended 2.50 to 7.50 cents per cwt lower compared with Monday's noon bids. Lower Chicago December corn futures and a lower basis bid by some corn traders pressured cash corn bids. Corn bids truck delivered to the Yakima Valley also trended 1.25 to 2.50 cents per cwt lower compared with Monday's noon bids.
