March wheat futures trended 4.50 to 12 cents per bushel lower compared to Friday's closes.
Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat for February delivery in unit trains or barges were not fully established but were indicated as steady to 12 cents per bushel lower than Friday's noon bids for February delivery. Some exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.
Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for February delivery were not fully established in early trading but were indicated as 3.50 to 4.50 cents per bushel lower compared to Friday's noon bids for the same delivery period. Lower Kansas City March wheat futures pressured cash bids. Some exporters raised their basis which tempered the declines.
Bids for 14 percent protein non-guaranteed US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat for February delivery were not fully established in early trading but were indicated as 11.50 to 19.50 cents per bushel lower than Friday's noon bids in reaction to the lower Minneapolis March wheat futures and a lower basis bid by some exporters.
Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered to Portland in single rail cars for domestic use trended mixed, from ten cents lower to 1.25 cents per cwt higher than Friday's noon bids. Lower Chicago March corn futures were pressured cash corn bids in early trading, however a higher basis bid by some corn traders supported cash bids somewhat. Corn bids truck delivered to the Yakima Valley trended ten to 13.75 cents per cwt lower than Friday's noon bids.
