POWELL, Wyo. (AP) -- The Western Sugar Cooperative is nearing the end of delivering sugar beets to the Lovell processing factory in northern Wyoming.

Randall Jobman of Western Sugar says hauling the beets to factory has taken longer this season because of the record harvest in 2011.

The Lovell factory district yield averaged 28.9 tons of sugar beets per acre.

Jobman tells the Powell Tribune (http://bit.ly/ACgR3a ) that beets stored at receiving stations since the harvest wrapped up in the fall are in good condition. Growers deliver the beets to receiving stations, where they are stored until they can be trucked to the factory.

The Lovell factory will process sugar beets 24 hours per day until the job is done.
