Domestic wool trading on a clean basis was slow this week. There were no confirmed sales. Demand light to moderate. Domestic wool trading on a greasy basis was slow this week. There were no confirmed sales.

The FSA effective LDP rate for wool is unchanged at $0 per pound. The FSA effective LDP rate for mohair is unchanged at $0 per pound.

Jan. 18

Compared to Jan. 11 slaughter lambs were steady to $1 higher, instances $10-20 higher at New Holland, Pa. Slaughter ewes were steady and at New Holland $5-10 lower. Feeder lambs were steady. At San Angelo, Texas, 3,585 head sold in a one-day sale. Equity Electronic Auction sold 350 slaughter lambs in Nebraska. In direct trading slaughter ewes were not tested; no comparison on feeder lambs. 2,000 head of negotiated sales of slaughter lambs were $2 lower and 13,700 head of formula sales of dressed lambs under 65 lbs. were not well tested; 65-75 lbs. were $4 higher; 75-85 lbs. were steady to $1 higher and over 85 lbs. were steady. 5,733 lamb carcasses sold with 55 lbs. and down $11.57-16.56 higher; 55-65 lbs. $1.08 lower; and 65 lbs. and up $.38 lower to $.41 higher.

San Angelo: shorn and wooled 100-150 lbs. $108-124.

SLAUGHTER LAMBS Choice and Prime 1:

San Angelo: 40-60 lbs. $184-201; 60-70 lbs. $158-178, few $188; 70-80 lbs. $148-167; 80-90 lbs. $122-139, few $142-149; 90-110 lbs. $120-128, few $132-145.

DIRECT TRADING (Lambs with 3-4 percent shrink or equivalent)

2,000 Slaughter Lambs shorn and wooled 125-175 lbs. $93.50-121 (wtd avg $110.60); no dressed sales reported.

SLAUGHTER EWES:

San Angelo: Good 2-3 (fleshy) $50-61; Utility and Good 1-3 (medium flesh) $62-70; Utility 1-2 (thin) $50-62.

FEEDER LAMBS Medium and Large 1-2:

San Angelo: 50-60 lbs. $168-170; 65-80 lbs. $130.50-138; 105-120 lbs. $121-128.

REPLACEMENT EWES Medium and Large 1-2:

San Angelo: mixed age hair ewes 140 lbs. $81-106 cwt.
