Compared to Feb. 22, slaughter lambs were steady to $10 higher, instances $20-30 higher. Slaughter ewes were steady. Feeder lambs were steady to $10 higher. A winter storm affected much of the U.S. and canceled many sales this week.
At San Angelo, Texas, 3,607 head sold in a one-day sale. No sales in Equity Electronic Auction. In direct trading slaughter ewes were not tested and no comparison on feeder lambs.
4,200 head of negotiated sales of slaughter lambs were steady to $1 higher and 14,600 head of formula sales of dressed lambs under 65 lbs. were not well tested; 65-75 lbs. were $1-2 lower; over 75 lbs. were $6-8 lower. 4,329 lamb carcasses sold with 45 lbs. and down $.23 higher; 45-65 lbs. $6.07-16.39 lower and 65 lbs. and up $.16-.63 higher.
