Potato grower of the year fund-raiser event set

POCATELLO, Idaho -- Potato Growers of Idaho will host its annual Grower of the Year Awards and Fundraising Auction beginning at 5 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Red Lion Hotel.

The Pocatello event will start with a silent auction and reception, followed by a live auction conducted by Rexburg, Idaho, auctioneer Gale Harding. Awards will be presented following the auction, and a brief PGI business meeting is scheduled following the festivities.

Everyone associated with the Idaho potato industry is welcome. Funds raised through the auctions will benefit the Idaho Potato Political Action Committee. Donations to be auctioned include: a scenic plane ride, a ski trip, tractor rentals, crop protection products and more. Door prizes will be given away throughout the event.
