Scholarships available through Oregon Agricultural Education Foundation

The Oregon Agricultural Education Foundation announces that applications are available for two scholarship programs for the 2013-2014 academic year.

* Oregon Farm Bureau Memorial Scholarships, which makes 10-12 awards annually, are open to any Oregon high school graduate preparing for an agriculture or forestry-related career. Students attending institutions outside the state are also eligible. The goal of the scholarship program is to "support students that will have a positive impact on production agriculture and other agriculture-related fields."

Deadline for applications is March 15.

* The Oregon Farm Bureau Country Insured Associate Member Scholarship is also available. Funded by Country Financial, one $1,000 award is open to any Oregon high school graduate/resident with a Farm Bureau associate membership or a dependent child of an associate member. The student must be preparing to continue his education through a community college or a four-year college or university with the intent to seek a bachelor's degree. Students attending institutions outside Oregon are also eligible. Employees of Oregon Farm Bureau and Country Financial and their immediate families are not eligible for this scholarship.

Deadline for applications is March 15.
