Idaho wheat commission mails winter surveys

The Idaho Wheat Commission is mailing its 2012-2013 winter wheat survey to growers.

The commission uses the survey to identify the leading wheat varieties planted in each region of the state. The information helps stakeholders monitor planting trends in their area and make planting and marketing decisions.

Researchers use leading varieties as a benchmark for new releases and the value of new genetics to the industry. Buyers use the variety data to help decide where to purchase the class and quality they need.

Responses are confidential.

The commission will send out the spring wheat survey in June 2013. The commission sends surveys via mail or email.
