Potato challenge educates teens

Columbia Basin College and other groups are offering "The Great Potato Challenge," featuring one-day agri-business training for high school students. The event takes place Nov. 9 at the college's Gjerde Center in Pasco, Wash. More than 130 students will participate.

The goal of the event is to introduce students to the global, competitive nature of agriculture, as well as career opportunities and the importance of export markets, according to a college press release.
