FSA closes some county offices

The USDA Farm Service Agency offices in Tillamook, Polk and Grant counties closed as of Oct. 1, Lynn Voigt, executive director for the agency in Oregon said.

Program services formerly provided by the Tillamook office are now provided by the Washington-Columbia office.

Services provided by the Polk County office now are provided by the Marion County office.

Grant County services now will be provided by the Baker County FSA office, Voigt said.

The offices are among 125 FSA offices that were closed as part of a nationwide consolidation plan.

"Although we recognize that change is never easy, we strongly believe that taking this action now is critical to ensuring FSA can continue to serve its customers as it adjusts to budget constraints," Juan Garcia, administrator of the agency, said in a prepared statement.
