Sandor resigns from Chemeketa ag department

Greg Sandor, who started July 2 as director of the Agricultural Sciences Department at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, has resigned.

Johnny Mack, a division dean who oversees the college's ag sciences department, has formed a search committee and is posting the job on state-run and private employment websites.

Mack will serve as interim director until the college hires a new director.

Sandor managed small wineries in New York. He obtained a master's degree in viticulture and enology from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. He also holds a bachelor's degree in the same fields from the University of California-Fresno.

Sandor replaced Craig Anderson, who retired last year.
