SACRAMENTO -- The California Department of Food and Agriculture has three vacancies on an advisory board that works to ensure that fertilizers are safe and effective.
The Fertilizer Inspection Advisory Board works with the state's Fertilizing Materials Inspection Program, which conducts routine sampling and inspections of fertilizers and responds to consumer complaints.
Two vacancies are for people with a fertilizer license or who represent a licensed fertilizer firm, while the third opening is for a public member. The term of office is three years, and there is no compensation for members other than travel expenses.
