CHICO, Calif. -- Alumni from the California State University-Chico College of Agriculture will be honored at a pair of events in early 2013.

An ag social at the Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale will take place from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Tehama District Fair grounds, and the 11th annual Colusa Farm Show Breakfast will be held on Feb. 6.

Tickets for the 7 a.m. breakfast at Saint Bernadette's Hall, 745 Ware St., Colusa, can be purchased in advance for $25 or at the door for $30. All proceeds go to the university's ag department and the California Agriculture Leadership Foundation.

The events over the years have allowed Chico State's alumni committee to increase scholarship offerings from $2,000 to $10,000 and provide ongoing funding for hands-on education at the university farm, according to a news release.
