National Sheep/Wool Reports Compiled by USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo.-San Angelo, Texas

Wool prices in cents per pound and foreign currency per kilogram, sheep prices in dollars per hundredweight (cwt.) except some replacement animals on per head basis as indicated.

Domestic wool trading on a clean basis was slow this week. There was no confirmed sales this week. Demand light to moderate. Domestic clean wool and confirmed trades are reported on a weighted average basis. Domestic wool trading on a greasy basis was slow this week. There were no confirmed sales this week.

Domestic Wool Tags - delivered to buyer, greasy basis:

#3 $.10-.20

The FSA effective LDP rate for wool is unchanged at $0 per pound. The FSA effective LDP rate for mohair is unchanged at $0 per pound.

Compared to last week no comparison at most locations on slaughter lambs due to the holidays, at New Holland, Pa., they were $20-30 lower. Slaughter ewes at New Holland were $5-10 lower. No comparison on feeder lambs. At San Angelo, Texas, 3,022 head sold in a one-day sale. No sales in Equity Electronic Auction. In direct trading slaughter ewes and feeder lambs were not tested. 7,000 head of negotiated sales of slaughter lambs were $6 higher and 9,200 head of formula sales of dressed lambs under 55 lbs. were not well tested; 55-65 lbs. were $6 lower; 65-75 lbs. were $2-3 lower; 75-85 lbs. were $2 higher and over 85 lbs. were $1-2 lower. 7,161 lamb carcasses sold with 45 lbs. and down $11.30 higher; 45-55 lbs. $10.50 lower; 55-85 lbs. $1.83 lower to $.03 higher and 85 lbs. and up higher.

SLAUGHTER LAMBS Choice and Prime 2-3:

San Angelo: shorn and wooled 100-150 lbs. $100-111, few $118-122.

SLAUGHTER LAMBS Choice and Prime 1:

San Angelo: 40-60 lbs. $190-206; 60-70 lbs. $158-178, few $180-200; 70-80 lbs. $141-164, few $170-178; 80-90 lbs. $124-140, few $164; 90-110 lbs. $116-128, few $132-148.

DIRECT TRADING (Lambs with 3-4 percent shrink or equivalent)

7,000 Slaughter Lambs shorn and wooled 100-170 lbs. $94.83-128 (wtd avg $112.89); no dressed sales reported.

SLAUGHTER EWES:

San Angelo: Good 2-3 (fleshy) $53-60; Utility and Good 1-3 (medium flesh) $60-75; Utility 1-2 (thin) $46-59.

FEEDER LAMBS Medium and Large 1-2:

San Angelo: 40-60 lbs. $170-172; 60-80 lbs. $140-162, few $178.

REPLACEMENT EWES Medium and Large 1-2:

San Angelo: no test.
