Six-day conference to explore direct marketing

The North American Farmers Direct Marketing Association will convene its 28th annual convention Feb. 1-6 in Portland, Ore.

A three-day "School on Wheels" opens the convention with three individually focused bus tours from Oregon's Willamette Valley to Seattle.

Speakers from inside and outside the farming industry will present workshops on food, agritourism, staff training, technology and marketing. Farmers and agritourism operators will have opportunities to explore new ideas and new products.

Also a trade show will bring together products and services available for farm retail and on-farm entertainment. Headquarters is the Portland DoubleTree Hotel Lloyd Center.

The Direct Marketing Association coordinated conference planning with the North American Strawberry Growers Association, the North American Raspberry and Blackberry Association and the Pacific Northwest Farm Direct Marketing Association.
