Conference will link farmers with school districts

MOSES LAKE, Wash. -- Produce farmers and school districts will learn how to set up vending relationships at a free statewide conference Feb. 21.

Joan Qazi, Central Washington coordinator for the Washington Sustainable Food and Farming Network, said she already has 22 school districts registered. Farmers have until Feb. 12 to register for the daylong event aimed at developing new direct markets.

The Farm to School Summit will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Masto Conference Center at Big Bend Community College. Lunch will be provided.
