Bonners Ferry FFA‚s ‚Moment 2 Move‚
On April 10, 2012 the Bonners Ferry FFA Chapter left for Twin Falls for the 81st Idaho State Leadership Conference. On April 11th, the chapter took a tour of Summit Seed Coating and Norco. At Summit Seed Coating, the chapter got to see how seed is coated to help the crops improve growth. Norco is a company that separates air into the different gases and liquefies them for use. They bottle nitrogen, oxygen and argon. That evening, the chapter attended a Baxter Black performance, in Twin Falls, Idaho.
¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† On April 12th, some of the chapter members attended aquaculture and meat packing tours. Members also participated in several workshops that helped develop their leadership skills and appreciation for agriculture.
¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Gabby Munson and Kate Wood served as chapter delegates. They helped in deciding issues that had been brought before the conference. Kate Wood was a delegate on the State Degree Exam committee that debated limiting the number of questions regarding names and dates on the FFA State Degree Exam, and Gabby was on the Fall Leadership Tour committee that decided to reinstate the fall state officer tours.
¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† Kate Wood entered the Chapter Scrapbook and placed second in Division II for the state. Ayla Neumeyer participated in the Job Interview and Extemporaneous Public Speaking Career Development Events (CDEs) where she placed second for the state in Extemporaneous Speaking. Ayla received a tractor raffle scholarship and a scholarship from the Capital Press for her job as North Idaho District Reporter. Ayla also ran for a state office. On April 14th she was announced as the new 2012-2013 Idaho FFA Association Vice President. The chapter went to Wahooz along with the Nezperce, Genesee, and Troy FFA chapters following the State Leadership Conference.
