The Baker FFA Chapter annual banquet was held on Tuesday May 14. During the evening members were recognized for their achievements throughout the year. Some of the awards received by members were for Agricultural Issues, Parliamentary Procedure, Agricultural Mechanics, and many more. Members also competed in Livestock Judging, Meats Evaluation and Horse Judging. The Ag Issues team provided entertainment during dinner by presenting their skit titled “It’s Starting to be Hungry Out.”
Tally Newman, Kate Rohner and Matt Kerns were honored with the Honorary Chapter Degree for their selfless contributions to the FFA. In addition Northwest Farm Credit Services and Elkhorn Embroidery recognized for their continual dedication to the FFA with the Distinguished Service Award. The FFA is exceptionally grateful for all their efforts.
Family and friends gathered with the Baker FFA Chapter to say good-bye to the advisor that has been with the local chapter for twenty seven years. Mr. Randy Newman, the Baker High School Ag teacher, was recognized by the Baker FFA Alumni, supporters and members for his excellent leadership and friendship to all of his current and former students. As we said good-bye to a teacher we also sent off seven seniors. Mickayla Hall, Wyatt Lee, Haley Cook, Morgan Morris, Kisha Garner, Kellie Freels, and Luke Coomer have all served the FFA well, and we wish them the best in their futures.
Thanks to the unending support of all of our sponsors as well as community members, the Baker FFA has had a successful year.
